“Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.”
— Marc Riboud
If you know me, you will know that my life goal is to be a photographer. Ever since I was 14 years old, I have loved taking photos. My mum bought me my first camera and from then on I have upgraded every few years – For me, photography isn’t just about having photos for memories. I love being behind the camera, taking a beautiful photo, editing it and sharing it with the world. This makes me proud of myself. It is a nice feeling having a hobby that I love and although I crave having more free time to do it, my camera is my favourite item in the world ~literally~.
I think it is okay that some people don’t have aspirations or goals In life but I do sometimes sit and feel lucky that there is something out there I have a passion for. The main style of photography that I enjoy is people/fashion. I get so excited when I know I have an event or occasion coming up as it means I can get planning ideas and know that I will have another series of photos to keep. Even if it is a friend or someone I don’t know message me because they want some pictures taken, it just makes me incredibly happy. I honestly can’t wait for the day I wake up and have this as my career.
To me, having a passion helps you get by even more in life. You have something to keep you grounded and it is an extra reason to want to wake up the next day and be motivated. If there isn’t anything in particular that you love, try doing some research into hobbies and start trying out activities that you haven’t before.. you never know, you might realise you’re excellent at something and want to pusure a job in it.
Having a passion can mean so many things. You can find yourself through it and maybe even become someone that you have hidden for a long time for what ever reason. You find that you push your limits more because you have something to focus on, something that makes you feel warm inside so you try harder and harder every day. and you know what? It is something in life that nobody can take away from you and I think that is rather special.
I will post below just a few photos that I have taken in the past so you can see the kind of thing I love and enjoy doing. I hope that if there is anything you can take away from this post today , it is that if you don’t have a passion, maybe try finding one because it can be amazing, and if you do.. I hope it is something that makes you smile like nothing else does.
